The Challenge
Finding a genuine replacement for DOP / DEHP, DINP or any other phthalate plasticiser in Compact and Foamed PVC plastisols has not been an easy task in the past. In addition, unacceptable technical and processing compromises are often made that make traditional alternatives unattractive.

Difficult processing characteristics, poor cell structure and inferior foam height are typical examples of problems that are commonly encountered.

The Solution
The use of SOFT-N-SAFE™ bio-based plasticiser has been proven to offer superior foam density and expansion when formulated in combination with SolVin's 367NK (K67 microsuspension resin) and Baerlocher's KK42 kicker / stabiliser in Foamed applications as illustrated here:

Enhanced Foam height is a major feature of the SOFT-N-SAFE™ in combination with the Solvin / Baerlocher products and SolVin's internal tests demonstrate superiority to DOP / DINP in Foamed PVC:

Table 1 illustrates the good thermal stability and excellent low volatility that are obtained with SOFT-N-SAFE™ in Compact layers with SolVin's 382NG (K82 microsuspension resin) and Baerlocher's CT306X (CaZn stabiliser):
